New immigration forgiveness could unify families

The government will make a change in pardons effective as of August 29, 2016. Now immediate family members of permanent residents will be able to apply for forgiveness within the United States.

This long-awaited benefit was only available to those requested by citizens. This change will mean that many families will no longer be separated for long during the process of obtaining permanent residence.
